Oriental medicine is a form of medicine that uses your lifestyle in addition to your symptoms to diagnose a root cause of your discomfort. This disharmony can then be treated by a range of modalities, the best known of which is acupuncture. When administered by a registered acupuncturist, it is a safe option that may be used from infancy into old age.
Uncomfortable with needles?
Oriental medicine offers other modalities such as acupressure, guasha, herbal therapy, dietary advice, tuina or Chinese massage, cupping and moxabustion, all aimed at harmonising the body and encouraging its innate self-healing abilities.
Common conditions encountered in clinic include:
Stress & Tension
What to expect
Between 75-90 mins duration
The initial consultation is a longer appointment. We will cover all aspects of your health, from diet and lifestyle to medications and moods. We discuss treatment options, acupuncture is included, however herbs (if prescribed) are an additional cost. Health fund rebates are available (depending on fund).
Up to an hour duration
These appointments implement our mutually agreed treatment plan, allowing for feedback on our initial consultation and then subsequent treatments. We can discuss whether the current approach is working for you or whether we need to change strategy.
